Santa Maria Novella
CHIUSI
It seems that the origin of the small church dates back to the XIth century; the bell tower was built later. The church acquired its present appearance in the XVIIth century.
The apsis and the bell tower, originally a defensive tower, are the only two elements that remain from the original church. It was completely restored in 1902. Presently, it appears with a simple facade crowned by a hut roof , with a single nave inside with two lateral altars and with the major altar, in painted stucco , dated XVIIth century. It seems that the origin of the small church dates back to the XIth century; the bell tower was built later.
