Sant'Andrea
SARTEANO
The church is Romanesque with a simple travertine facade, gabled roof and bell tower with a single mullioned window. It has been submitted to various reconstructions throughout the years. The interior presents a single nave and it was restored by the architect Leonardo de’ Vegni in 1789. The chapel dedicated to the Blessed Bonaventura da Chieti (1557-1627) is quite remarkable. The Franciscan friar lived as a hermit in the Hermitage at Poggio Rotondo. There are frescoes and stuccoes in the vault of the chapel, but unfortunately they are quite deteriorated. The travertine baptismal font , dated XIVth century is also quite remarkable. The church is Romanesque with a simple travertine facade, gabled roof and bell tower with a single mullioned window.
