We recommend starting from the Temple of San Biagio in Montepulciano, Pienza heading towards, along the 146 state. At the intersection you come to after a long series of ups and downs is not very demanding, turn right towards Torrita di Siena. At the next junction follow the signs to Castelmuzio. Shortly before entering the town we make a short detour to visit the church of Santo Stefano in Cennano. The route continues to Petroio, from which the road goes uphill.
