Chiusi, despite being a young and urban area without a ritual or an
antique carousel to recall, wanted to invent out of whole cloth in
1981. And 'so were born the "Ruzzi of the Basin." This name is
related to two typical dialect expressions of Chiusi. The Ruzzo,
that the game was born, entertaining, and the Basin, which is
located geographically the valley where the town of Chiusi.
The Ruzzi of the Basin is an event that takes place every year between the last Sunday of August and September 1. Every year one of the five districts undertook the duty and the honor of organizing the party within its borders
The races scheduled for adults, are:
The braccialini
The challenge to the cuff of the ball among children is held the first Saturday of the event. The promising young ball bracelet to bring their challenge to win the district. The district winner of the previous edition is already in the semifinals. The other four will compete with each other: Who wins more points should be discarded in the final to await the winner between the semi-finals of law and the other team that won the game with a difference less than the preliminary points. Oh well that just sounds bad, but I swear that it is harder to explain than to see!
Women's Bracelet
The competitions take place immediately after those of braccialini but retain the same regulation (except for field sizes that are smaller than those of boys). The women's races are a novelty introduced recently, in 2005, the district of Granocchiaio (eh bè ... on the other hand ...)

And 'the highlight of the event. The challenge is divided into two Sundays with the regulation we have seen for the first Braccialini. In the first semi-final Sunday is the team that organizes the festival, will challenge each other to decide who will be the winner of the first round. This will have the right to go directly to the final Sunday of the second, while the others will compete to reach it.
The Ruzzini. Instead, games are dedicated to younger children and are held the second Saturday of the event. A kind of games without borders for children.
The race of the pig
And 'one of the most characteristic manifestation: the Palio was created to make fun courses with as many other horses in nearby towns. It takes place immediately after the Ruzzini and is funny, because pigs are not anywhere where they should have to follow them and jockeys trying to direct them toward the finish line. From laughing.
