In this important and active center of the Valdichiana 700 was already at the end of the active Georgofili Academy heatedly that he had a theater built before 1785. At that time it was a petition to the Grand Duke Peter Leopold of the Academy in order to keep their theater, which, according to regulations issued by the government of Lorraine, was to be closed.
The theater underwent profound changes between 1936-37 when it was adapted to house the local headquarters of the beam. On that occasion, the architect Alfredo Corradini, his disposition was turned over and was created a new gallery on the opposite side to the original. After the war, on the upper floor housed the offices of political parties and of '"Craft Siena." Before its closure unfit for use, the theater was used as a cinema (until 1979) and as a rehearsal for the local Philharmonic (until 1983).
After an appropriate and consistent restoration, the architect Giampiero Chiucini, the theater has resumed its activities in 1999 serving as an ideal space for small performances and public initiatives.
