Situated in one of the most idyllic part of Tuscany and hidden among secular holm-oaks, pines, vineyards, olive groves, ponds and creeks, Palazzo di Piero has that special charm of Etruscan sites. At the end of an oak-lined drive stands the large medieval residence with its elegant loggia and bell tower, its chapel painted with frescoes from the 16th century and its lovely inner courtyard.The farm is located close to Sarteano (2 Km), to Chianciano (4 Km), famous for their thermal waters, and to Chiusi, rich in fascinating archaeological sites and near the border line between Umbria and Toscana. This area offers not only healthy vacations and a variety of outdoor activities, but is also an interesting departure point for learning about culture and traditions of this region.The property is only 4 Km from the Highway A1, making it a centre for major sightseeing. Florence, Perugia and Assisi are all very accessible, Gubbio and Orvieto less than one hour drive away. Rome can be reached both by train from Chiusi, or with two hours drive.
The Valdichiana is an excellent holiday base, opening up both the Siena region and the Umbria region around Lake Trasimeno. This was one of the most important domains of Etruscans; the town of Chiusi was a point of exchange before Rome was founded. Palazzo di Piero is in the southern part of the Siena Province, the most extese of Tuscany, between the Val di Chiana (famous for its rich agricolture) and Val D'Orcia. The towns around the farm (Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza) are very ancient and famous for their wine and cheese production and are at less than one hour driving. How to reach us
To reach Palazzo di Piero: from Highway A1 exit at Chiusi-Chianciano. Take direction to Chianciano; after 4 Km there is a white road with trees on both sides that leads to the farm.
